Beer Recipes
Many customers in recent years have asked us for our opinion on food pairings and for recipes with beer. Yes BEER! The variety of beer styles and flavors available is equal to or surpasses that of wine. Wine, beer and cuisine are all regional, so it naturally follows that like wine, certain beer is considered best for certain food. The resurgence of craft brewers in the U.S. assures us of many different styles from many different countries are available alongside their foreign cousins, allowing many parings to be explored. Like popular topics, beer and food pairings are hotly debated and there are no hard and fast rules. If you're just starting to experiment, below are some general pairings.
- Malty lagers go well with milder meats like pork, veal, and poultry
- Stout goes well with shellfish
- Crisp, full-bodied ale pairs well with red meat.
One way to experiment with food and beer pairings is to find a brewpub or similar establishment that offers quality food and an ever-changing roster of beers. Another is to shop at Atlas, browse our enthusiast’s selection and ask for the resident beer buff. They will guide you to our latest arrivals and specials. We are also very receptive to our customer suggestions and requests, so if you have a favorite beer pairing or recipe, please let us know so we can share it with all Atlas beer aficionados on our website.
